Plan manager

All About Plan Managers

Plan managers in the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) are responsible for managing the financial aspects of a participant's NDIS plan. Plan managers act as a "middleman" between the participant and the NDIS, managing and paying for the services and supports outlined in the participant's plan.

Some of the specific tasks that plan managers may perform include:

  1. Managing the participant's NDIS funding, including payments to service providers and keeping track of remaining funds.
  2. Ensuring that all services and supports are delivered in accordance with the participant's plan and goals.
  3. Handling administrative tasks such as processing invoices and managing financial records.
  4. Providing advice and support to participants and their families on financial matters related to their NDIS plan.
  5. Advocating for the participant's needs and interests with service providers and other stakeholders.

Plan managers may be chosen by the participant or appointed by the NDIA (National Disability Insurance Agency). They may be an individual or an organization, and they must be registered with the NDIS. Participants can choose to manage their plan themselves, or use a combination of self-management and plan management.

Where can I find one?

Plan managers can be found via referrals, word of mouth or by asking your NDIS planner.
